Frequently asked questions

Everything about how the apps work, how subscriptions work on Apple and Google, and what to do when something goes wrong.

Yes. Every Safari Guy app is built offline-first. Download it once over Wi-Fi before your trip and the full wildlife guide, maps and your sightings all keep working with no mobile signal — exactly when you need them in the bush.
One dedicated app per park. Instead of a single bloated everything-app, each app covers only the species, maps and routes of that specific park, so it stays fast, focused and genuinely useful on the ground.
We currently have apps for 14 African national parks across South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Kenya and Tanzania — including Kruger, Etosha, Masai Mara, Serengeti, Addo and more. See the Park Apps page for the full list.
A full offline wildlife guide (around 800 animals across our parks) with photos and field facts, offline GPS maps, self-drive routes, gate and rest-camp information, ranger tips and a personal sightings tracker.
Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple’s App Store and Google Play. You can choose weekly, monthly or yearly, and your subscription unlocks ongoing updates — new species, updated maps and ranger tips — for as long as it stays active.
You cancel directly through your app store, not through us. On iPhone: Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. On Android: open the Play Store, tap your profile, then Payments & subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the current period ends.
Refunds are managed by Apple and Google under their own policies, as they process all payments. If you run into a problem, contact the relevant store — and feel free to get in touch with us too, we are happy to help point you the right way.
The apps are available in 8 languages, including English, Dutch, German, French, Italian and Brazilian Portuguese.
Yes — every park app is available on both the Apple App Store and Google Play.
Because the apps store the full guide and maps offline, each download is sizeable (roughly 1 to 1.5 GB depending on the park). We recommend downloading over Wi-Fi before you travel.
